NAIDOC Week talk: Matilda House

NAIDOC Week talk: Matilda House

Fri 7 July: 1–2pm

Storytelling is a tradition close to the heart of Ngambri-Ngunnawal elder and artist, Matilda House.

Join Matilda as she tells the stories represented in her works from the CMAG Collection: a lithograph, Murrumbeja dooligah (1996), and a magnificent possum skin cloak, incised with designs depicting the Murrumbidgee River, the Brindabella Ranges, bush tucker, wedge-tailed eagles and brolgas, worn to the first Welcome to Country ceremony at the opening of the 43rd Parliament in 2010.

Listen to Matilda's talk, recorded at Canberra Museum and Gallery, Friday 7 July 2017
