Canberra Museum and Gallery will close for upgrade of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system

Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) will close to the public from  Monday 27 March to Friday 12 May 2017 inclusive to allow for a major upgrade of its heating, ventilation and air conditioning – or HVAC – system.

“We have worked closely with the team delivering the project to minimise this period that CMAG needs to be closed to the public,” says CMAG Director, Shane Breynard.

“The current HVAC system is over 20 years old and is increasingly expensive to run and maintain. The new system will allow us to significantly reduce our overall energy use and benefit more fully from the ACT’s move to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.

“Information has already been placed on site and on our website, and will be rolled out via AccessCanberra, the wider media and other information points later this week.

“CMAG will reopen with a major new survey exhibition of the work of senior glass artist Kirstie Rea on Saturday 13 May 2017.

Information about the closure is available on CMAG’s website at www.cmag.com.au or by calling (02) 6207 3968.
