Another subtle, deceptively simple and richly rewarding work from Abbas Kiarostami that explores the relationships between ancient and modern, rural and urban, devotion and directionlessness. A man (Ehzad Dourani) arrives in a rural village with a crew and waits impatiently for a terminally ill woman to die, befriending a small boy in return for bulletins on the woman's condition. Do not come to this film expecting a fast-paced drama. It has been described as a film without a story. It has also been described as ‘a dazzling cinematic spectacle’, ‘a mystery of ineffable beauty’ and ‘a quietly ecstatic comedy.’
