In Conversation with Martin Gascoigne and Virginia Rigney

Wed 19 August: 1–2pm

Rosalie Gascoigne developed a completely new way of seeing the landscape of the Canberra region. This vision gradually evolved from her arrival as a young bride to the then isolated scientific community on Mt Stromlo in 1943 and continued for the rest of her life as a resident of the city.

Join us for a conversation with her son Martin Gascoigne, as he shares insights into her practice and, as revealed in one of her favourite late works, September, her sense of the importance of seeing this landscape as atmosphere, space and sky.

There will be limited places and contact tracing for this event.
