Assistant Director, Access and Learning
Sophie Chessell, with Claire Conti, manages Access and Learning section’s programs across Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG), and ACT Historic Places: Lanyon, Mugga-Mugga and Calthorpes’ House. She is a passionate about connecting the people of Canberra with their heritage, visual arts and social history.
Sophie started work for the organisation as the ACT Historic Places Access and Learning Officer in 2008. She was appointed Access and Learning Manager in 2009 and attained her current job share position of Assistant Director: Access and Learning in 2011. Prior to coming to ACT M&G Sophie worked at the National Archives of Australia and also worked in education institutions in the United States.
