Glass Alphabet

Glass Alphabet

This unique conceptual work is composed of 26 individual objects, each depicting a letter of the alphabet, produced by some of the Australia’s most prominent glass artists connected with the Canberra region.

Alphabet was instigated by Mel George, an independent curator with a practice as a glass artist, and was first shown at Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre, from 25 May to 7 July 2012. George was inspired by a desire to bring children into a gallery space with a playful exhibition that celebrated the extraordinary variety of glass techniques. Alphabet includes works by senior, mid-career and emerging glass artists.
