DESTRY RIDES AGAIN (1939)
95 MINUTES, USA

 DIRECTOR: GEORGE MARSHALL
CAST: MARLENE DIETRICH, JAMES STEWART, MISCHA AUER, BRIAN DONLEVY, CHARLES WINNINGER

In this famous comedy western, Saloon owner Kent (Brian Donlevy) controls the old West town of Bottleneck. After he murders the local Sheriff for asking too many questions, Kent has him replaced with the town drunk Washington Dimsdale (Charles Winninger). This turns out to be a big mistake as the drunk used to be the deputy of the famous lawman Tom Destry and is able to call on his equally talented son Tom Destry Jr (James Stewart). Soon Destry is cleaning up the town and winning the heart of Kent’s girlfriend and Saloon singer Frenchy (Marlene Dietrich). Dietrich delivers a career reviving performance.
